Person-Centred Counselling

& Clinical Supervision

About Me

Sometimes life feels heavy, uncertain, or difficult to carry alone. Counselling offers a space to explore those feelings and begin to feel more like yourself again

I qualified as a counsellor in 2015 and have worked in a range of settings, including the NHS, schools, residential addiction treatment services and private practice. Over the years, I’ve supported people navigating anxiety, self-harm, bereavement, recovery from addiction and periods of emotional overwhelm. I’ve also facilitated group therapy and psychoeducational groups focused on recovery and emotional resilience.

My work is grounded in person-centred counselling. For me, that means trusting that you are the expert in your own life. I don’t direct, diagnose or analyse you. Instead, I offer a steady, thoughtful presence and a space where you can speak openly and be met with warmth and honesty.

Clients often tell me they feel able to relax in sessions and that they don’t have to perform or explain themselves perfectly. That matters to me. I aim to be real and human in the room, while holding a safe and professional boundary

I believe counselling should be a space where you feel genuinely seen and supported, not fixed, judged, or rushed.

However you arrive, I’ll meet you there. Together, we’ll explore what matters to you and begin working toward the changes that feel meaningful for your life.

Frequently asked questions

CAN I HAVE ONLINE OR FACE-TO-FACE COUNSELLING?

At present, I only offer online counselling, which is an effective way to engage with therapy. After we both agree on a time and day, I send you an invite link via the secure platform Zoom to meet, and we begin our session. Sessions are weekly and last 50 minutes. The number of sessions depends on your preferences, but I will discuss this with you during your initial session. I offer both short and long-term sessions for £60.00 per session.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM OUR SESSIONS?

When you start working with an online therapist, you may feel apprehensive about beginning counselling. The therapeutic relationship is very important for success. I create a safe, non-judgmental space to support you so that we can build a trusting relationship. Online sessions are a very convenient way of undergoing therapy at your own pace, where you can find a quiet, comfortable space to be fully at ease.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING OUR INITIAL CONTACT?

Get in touch via francesca@ethereal-counsellng.co.uk and I will contact you to schedule an initial 10-minute FREE consultation. Here we will discuss what issues you are experiencing and your goals for therapy. You can also ask me any questions about the therapy process. If you want to proceed we can book your first in-depth online assessment session which usually lasts 60 minutes.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A COUNSELLING SESSION?

When you begin therapy with me, you control what we explore and discuss. My sessions take place in a safe and non-judgmental space, so you can talk freely and honestly about your experiences and current issues, helping you explore your emotions and feelings deeply. Therapy aims to help you find the answers from within, so you can understand better and move forward with your life.

IS COUNSELLING CONFIDENTIAL?

Everything you discuss with me during our sessions is confidential. There are only two exceptions to this where I am obliged to break confidentiality: if you disclose involvement in or knowledge of any criminal activities or if there is a safeguarding issue if you or any adult or child related to you could potentially be under threat of harm or abuse.
